FreeBSD: Add new disk/slice with journaling

It’s pretty simple to add a new disk or slice with journaling in FreeBSD. My base slice/partition is ada0s1. The next available slice is ada0s3. Then:

gjounal load

gjournal label -f /dev/ada0s3

newfs -J -L store /dev/ada0s3.journal

I choose ‘store’ to label the disk. Time to mount the disk:

mount /dev/ada0s3.journal /store
