OpenBSD: More memory for Gimp


When working with Gimp crashes can ocurr due to limits in the memory available for proceses. In some forum I read about increase datasize limit for gtk crashes. I thinks it’s the same issue and indeed, increasing it Gimp won’t crash anymore (at least in my experience).

‘login.conf’ file must be edited. If the ‘user’ belongs to ‘staff’ group modify the file to appear like this:

staff:\
        :datasize-cur=infinity:\
        :datasize-max=infinity:\
        :maxproc-max=512:\
        :maxproc-cur=128:\
        :ignorenologin:\
        :requirehome@:\
        :tc=default:

The key lines are:

so, if the user belongs to another group, modify this lines in ‘/etc/login.conf’ in the appropiate section.
